History-TitleHappy 167th Founder’s Day, Alpha Delta Pi! We celebrate your organization today for so many years of sisterhood & tradition! With over 220,000 initiated members in more than 160 chapters across the United States & Canada you are one incredible & rooted organization!

Alpha Delta Pi was founded on May 15, 1851, at Georgia Female College (now better known as Wesleyan Female College) in Macon, Georgia. Their six founders include: Eugenia Tucker Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Williams Mitchell, Sophronia Woodruff Dews, Octavia Andrew Rush, Mary Evans Glass, and Ella Pierce Turner.

ADPi’s special symbols include: the woodland violet for their flower, a diamond as their official jewel, and a lion as their mascot. Their colors are azure & white and their official open motto is: “We Live For Each Other”. Ronald McDonald House Charities is their official philanthropy and since their partnership began in 1979 they have raised over $12,680,000 (WHOA!!!!) which is absolutely amazing! Another fun fact is that the beautiful singer from Little Big Town, Karen Fairchild, is a member of Alpha Delta Pi, Kappa chapter, at Samford University in Homewood, Alabama!

Happy 120th Founder’s Day, Sigma Sigma Sigma! Today you celebrate years of sisterhood and tradition that have brought you to this moment in time of initiation over 125,000 initiated members in more than 112 chapters nationwide! For those who want to know more about this great organization, we put together a brief guide to this great organization!
Sigma Sigma Sigma FoundersSigma Sigma Sigma was founded on April 20th, 1898, at State Female Normal School (now better known as Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia. Their eight founders included: Margaret Lee Batten, Louise Marie Davis, Martha Trent Featherston, Isabella Merrick, Sallie Jackson Michie, Lelia Scott, Elizabeth Watkins and Lucy Wright.

Tri-Sigma’s special symbols include: a purple violet for their flower, a pearl as their official jewel, and the sailboat as the sails appear full representing our empowered sisterhood that is always moving forward. Their colors are purple & white and their official open motto is: “Faithful Unto Death”. March of Dimes & Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation are their official philanthropies. Over $1,500,000  has been donated for scholarship/leadership programs as well as over $3,000,000 in therapeutic play/child life programs which is absolutely amazing! Another fun fact is that the beautiful Carrie Underwood is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma, Alpha Iota chapter, at Northeastern State University!

Happy Founder’s Day, Alpha Epsilon Phi! Here at Ollie + Ivy we wish you a wonderful day filled with sisterhood.

Alpha Epsilon Phi was founded on October 24th, 1909 at Barnard College in Morningside Heights, NYC by seven Jewish women; Helen Phillips Lipman, Ida Beck Carlin, Rose Gerstein Smolin, Augustina “Tina” Hess Solomon, Lee Reiss Liebert, Rose Salmowitz Marvin, and Stella Strauss Sinsheimer. These women established such an amazing organization that focuses on “Many Hearts, One Purpose.” That saying is so true, even to this day, with over 100 chapters and 80,000 members initiated over the 108 years!
